Use this checklist to go live quickly

Complete these steps in order. You can typically finish in 45–60 minutes if your hardware is ready.

Add your property: Create your first property with address, time zone, and check-in/out defaults.
Connect Home Assistant: Generate a Long-Lived Access Token and connect via Home Assistant guide.
Select Staykey managed devices: Choose which locks, thermostats, switches, covers, or other devices and sensors Staykey should manage for stays and staff access.
Set default stay devices: Define which devices should automatically appear in every stay.
Configure access code policy: Choose code length/format that matches your lock and set expiry rules.
Create a test stay: Add a 1-day stay for yourself to validate codes and device control.
Generate a guest link: Open the link on mobile and desktop to confirm codes, devices, and instructions look right.
Test the lock: Enter the generated code on your lock to verify it syncs and unlocks.
Add property instructions: Include Wi‑Fi details, parking, and any house rules in the guest link.
Invite a teammate (optional, plan dependent): If your plan supports multiple users, add another user to help monitor the first real stay.

Confirm your time zone and check-in/check-out window are correct
Check battery levels on locks and sensors
Enable notifications for code creation or failures (if configured in your stack)
