Connect the sites guests already book on. Staykey imports reservations and sends a single guest link back through the same thread.

Forward Airbnb reservation emails to Staykey, add the calendar feed, then send your Staykey link out through Airbnb's own scheduled messages.

Forward Vrbo booking emails so Staykey knows each guest's name, phone, and reservation ID, then turn on the guest link text and Staykey sends it before check-in.

The workhorse for rentals
Local mesh network, low interference, rock-solid lock support. This is what we install on our own properties.
Great for sensors and lights
Similar to Z-Wave but on 2.4 GHz. Huge device selection — especially for bulbs, motion sensors, and contact sensors.
Newly viable for STR locks
The new cross-ecosystem standard. Home Assistant recently added passcode support for Matter locks — now a real option for hosts.
Easy, but cloud-dependent
Works fine if your router is reliable and the device's cloud stays up. We prefer mesh protocols for locks, but Wi-Fi has its place (especially thermostats).

Not supported today. Staykey is built on Home Assistant — that's where we put our reliability, device-compatibility, and local-control work. If SmartThings support would change your business, tell us.
No native integration yet. If your PMS exports an iCal feed, we can import reservations from it — but messages and pricing stay in the PMS.
We don't talk to HomeKit directly, but almost every HomeKit-compatible device is also exposed through Home Assistant's HomeKit controller — so in practice, it works.

No. Guest links, access codes, and booking import all work without a smart-home hub. To automate door codes on a smart lock, sign in with the lock's own app through a cloud account: no hub needed, one device included with each property, extra devices $6/month each. Home Assistant is for hosts who want local control, more device types (thermostats, garage doors, lights), and unlimited devices with no per-device fee.
No. Staykey adds itself on top of your existing setup. We read the devices and entities you already have and only fire automations that we own (access codes, climate setbacks between stays, etc.). Your scenes, dashboards, and custom automations keep working exactly as they do today.
Two routes. Through a cloud account: app-connected locks from brands such as Yale, Schlage, Kwikset and August, signed in with the lock maker's app. Through Home Assistant: any lock that supports rotating user codes — Z-Wave locks from Yale, Schlage, Kwikset, and August; most Zigbee locks; and Matter locks with passcode support. On Airbnb, build a scheduled message with the reservation confirmation-code shortcode and Staykey's link fills in for every booking, so the conversation stays on the thread the guest booked on. Vrbo's templates can't insert a reservation ID, so they can't carry a per-stay link. For Vrbo, forward your booking emails so Staykey has the guest's phone, then turn on the guest link text for that property — or paste the link from the stay page into the Vrbo conversation.
Locks continue to honor the codes that are already on them — that's the reliability argument for local mesh protocols in the first place. New check-ins and reservation changes pause until the hub reconnects, and Staykey alerts you the moment it can't reach the hub.
