See what you've earned and who still owes you, record payments, chase balances, and set a billing cadence for each client from the Earnings page.
Earnings in the cleaner portal is where your money lives: what you've earned, what's still owed, and how each client pays you. It covers both your Staykey hosts and your private clients.
The billing tools in this article are for company owners and managers. Crew members see a simpler Earnings screen without them.
At the top, pick a period: Week, Month, Year, or All. The headline shows what you've earned across all clients in that period, with a chart and a comparison to an earlier period (for example, last month or the same month last year).
The Owed to you card lists every client with money that hasn't reached you yet. Overdue clients come first and are flagged Overdue, then the rest by balance.
If any past cleanings were never reported, a line under the card tells you how much isn't counted yet. Review takes you back to Today to resolve them. See Reporting Loose Ends.
Tap Chase owed to open one list of every client with a balance, overdue clients first. It shows the total owed, how many clients, and how much is overdue. Each client has a Record payment button, so you can log a payment the moment it arrives.
Under Client billing, every client gets a card. New clients appear automatically. Each card shows:
When a client pays you by Venmo, cash, bank transfer, or anything else:
The client's balance updates right away. You can edit or delete a logged payment later if you made a mistake.
Payments from hosts who pay through Staykey are recorded automatically, so there's nothing to log for them.
Tap the gear on a client's card to open Billing settings. Under Billing window, choose how often you bill that client:
| Cadence | How it works |
|---|---|
| Per cleaning | Bill each turnover the day it's done. No window. |
| Weekly | One bill every week covering that week's cleanings. |
| Biweekly | One bill every 2 weeks covering all cleanings in the window. |
| Monthly | One bill per month covering all cleanings in the month. |
For clients you collect from yourself, the settings also show how you get paid. I collect manually covers Venmo, Zelle, cash, or ACH, where you record each payment yourself, with no fee.
For hosts who pay through Staykey, the settings are read-only. Staykey collects automatically for that client, so there's no window to manage.
Due dates follow the billing window:
A balance turns Overdue only once its due date has passed.
Each windowed client has one window per period. A window is Open while its period is running, Closed once the period ends and payment is due, and Settled once it's paid in full. A closed window can't settle while it still has a balance or a cleaning that was never reported.
If a cleaning is reported late, it bills in the window for the date the work happened. If that window is already settled, it carries forward into the current window instead. See Reporting Loose Ends.
Some hosts pay their cleaners through Staykey. For those hosts, Staykey collects and pays you out automatically, so you never have to record those payments.
To receive those payouts, set up your payout account in the Staykey Payments section of Earnings. Tap Set up payouts; it takes about 5 minutes and needs a US bank account. Stripe handles identity verification and files your 1099-K. Once you're set up, you can see recent payouts and Monthly statements for Staykey-collected cleanings. Payments you record yourself aren't included in those statements.
Staykey Payments only applies to hosts who pay through Staykey. Everything you collect from private clients, and from hosts who pay you directly, is tracked with Record payment above.
